Hello,
My employer will be filing for my greencard (labour certification) within the next 2-3 months. I have a valid H1 B visa expiring next year. I was wondering if it is legal to travel outside the country at this stage ?
Any advice would be appreciated.

If your company pays for there own lawyer then go ahead and change it to new one. As the response from lawyers will be fast. And you can avoid big expenses if you retain earlier law firm. Keep in mind Lawyers charge for each and every thing they do.
I did this and recently gave G28 for new lawyers. (But when my H1 was transfered new company lawyers goofed up the office address and I have not yet received I797 any how this is a different story. Planning to apply for a copy)

My online status for I-140 petition comes up with this weird status.
Your Current Case Status for Form I140, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER
Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On Feburary 7th, 2011 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
Any idea what this could be?
Please share your thoughts.

In 2005 I (american citizen) applied for a I-130 petition for my husband who is an Indian citizen. (It was approved.) Then after that the case was placed under administrative review at the Mumbai embassy in India. It is still pending for over four years now. As of Sept. 2008 My husband recieved a letter stating the petition was sent to the USCIS here for review and possible revocation. We were told to contact them here for our case. They can not find anything on our case.
He is now in Canada on a student visa. Can I apply for a K-3 visa while he is in canada on a student visa? I was told he would need to go back to India for me to apply for a K-3 visa. USCIS agent told me to take the steps in applying for a K-3 visa for him.

I usually spend some time every day at my San Francisco Bay Area immigration law office making inquires on pending cases. It is a frustrating process because I rarely receive answers and when I do, they usually are not helpful.
United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") has recently released guidance on how to make inquiries at their Service Centers (http://www.californiaimmigrationlawyerblog.com/USCIS%20update.pdf). They provide a three step process. The first step is to call their National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. If the issue is not resolved in 30 days, you proceed on to the next step which is to email the USCIS Service Center where your case is pending. The email addresses are:

My priority date is in Oct 2005 (ROW) and yesterday was the 180th day after filing my I-485 application. I need some help in deciding if I should wait for the green card with my current employer or think of changing the job using AC21. Your suggestions will be really helpful.

check the next VB (should be out in a day or two). Based on a thread where someone found the dates from the Mumbai consulate website, EB-3 ROW might move to July 2005. if it does, it might be worthwhile hanging on a couple of more months to this job and see if you become current.
On the othe rhand if you get a really nice offer, jump. AC-21 only adds a bit of complication to your job, it does not prevent you from getting a GC.

Hello friends - the recd. date on my 765 application is August 7th...it's almost 90 days now (11/5 - next monday) that my application will be pending.!
Same is the case with AP..! No news at all for EAD & AP..Worried now!
Can i make a appt. with INFOPASS for both my EAD & AP together...? And what is the A # that they ask for when we fill Infopass appt.? Is it A # on 48 receipt notice.? OR A # on 140 approval notice.!

it's more Marketing rubbish..
certainly it'll be a better 6MP image than before, but it won't have the pure resolution of a 1Ds or 14N.
Dynamic Range will be nice, but doesn't tip it over the edge. Why don't they go bigger in MP? One might ask.... I think they're finding it tough.. Somehow Canon has nailed it. Kodak couldn't.
Interesting times ahead!!

I am on AOS and currently working on my EAD. If I lose the job and employer terminates the health insurance, then will I qualify for the COBRA coverage or is it strictly for the Greencard/citizens? Any info is greatly helpful.

I have labor pending from a State A, now my employer is asking me to move to State B. However, my employer is willing to keep alive, labor process from State A and is also ready to file new labor from State B. Question is if labor A gets approved and if I apply I-140 on that labor, do I have to reapply I-140 for labor B, once labor B gets approved or I can use the same I-140?
Help is appreciated.

In good faith to your request for help, please do include more details of your case :- EB2 or EB3, country, PD, date I-140 filed, etc. So us IV readers will be in a better position to assess situation and help.
I got an RFE to send copies of my degrees on nov 15th. my attorney sent the copies and my status changed to Response to request for evidence received and processing is resumed. How many days will it take for I-140 approval after the response to RFE to received by USCIS ?

I have not heard any schedule for these bills. There was a hearing last week, but I couldn't find the outcome of the full hearing. May be someone from IV Core can tell us what is scheduled for the coming days.
