Android will be on more things by the end of the year. iOS is restricted to apple products. But we are already seeing the creativity that people are using android for. Being that it is open source and easy to modify and write on we have many things. Android now powers eReaders, TVs, Video games, and even a microwave
Is that supposed to be impressive? Apple is not in the appliances market, my friend.

Tell me, what market does Apple concentrate on?
How is that even relevant? Just because US companies can't get their ***** together with respect to privacy, the rest of the world has to deal with Apple's crappy business policies that are supposedly there for consumer protection but which seem far more geared towards boosting their own profits.

If some web pages would "break" if you resize a text area, why is it such a problem? If I broke a web page by resizing, I'd simply drag it back to a "good" size again, and be no worse off than before. If it redraws dynamically it'll be quite obvious as you drag.
Having a screen come out wrong is already the case with many websites if I resize my browser window to make it very skinny, yet I don't hear people complaining that browsers allow you to do that.

It's interesting how similar hardcore Christian conservatives are to hardcore conservative Muslims.
My thoughts exactly, but expressed before I could issue them. ;)

With that short reply Dustyn is now armed with all of the information he needs to make a long-term purchasing decision at his post production facility.
The tag line "Sent from my iPad" contains more information than the reply itself.
So true!
Based up the release of iLife 11, why should anyone expect major surprises with the next release of FCP?
Its true, Apple has put its focus into the iPhone & iPad. Software programs developed by Apple have been put on the side.

Sorry, but black people using the n word is no better than any other ethnicity doing it. And spare me the BS that it's part of the black culture. Any thuggish behavior and language and its glorification is deplorable, no matter the context, who or what it is directed against, and what criminal/amoral/inhumane behavior is exhibited or glorified. Ice T is as much of an jackass using the n word as your local clansman.
Inever said the use if the word was good. Im just saying that just as they're complaining that a non gay used the word im saying that saying the n word is bad no mattter the race.
where did i infer that blacks using the word was acceptable?

I now use GMail for Mail and use Picasa for photo hosting. It has great iPhoto intergartion and the premium service is like 20 bucks a year.
Wow! I didn't know about Picasa web albums. It does integrate with iPhoto great and 1000 pictures on the web for free sounds good to me! So now this is what my Google Services page looks like:
Google Calandar (Better in every way than .Mac's calandar, if it can be synched with iCal in Leopard I will be so happy)
Gmail .Mac mail probably is on parity with it now with this update but sadly Google gives you much more space for free! (The ads are very minimal)
Picasa Web Albums Awesome! Just awesome.
Google Spreadsheets/Writely These have room to grow but are really handy in a pinch. I can't wait until they have a basic set of productivity apps Writely etc. online for free and not in beta. They aren't office killers but most people don't use 90% of the features of Office anyway.
I stopped using Backup because it didn't work when I needed it to and besides the iDisk is much too small to backup anything but personal information. I use SuperDuper now with an external but will use Time Machine and an external with Leopard. I am using godaddy for my domain name and will probably use them as my host for my iWeb page next year when my account dies. Apple seriously needs to take a clue from google and offer the same kinds of apps at a much reduced price.

I wonder if the Shuffle will ever have more than 2 gigabytes. It's form factor seems to limit it, not because there'll never 2 gigabyte storage that small (there will), but because you can't select songs. I wonder how useful a 10 gig Shuffle would be. (Maybe it would be useful... since I don't listen to music on "shuffle" very often, it doesn't appeal to me, so maybe I'm missing something.)
But on the other hand, what can Apple do? They won't be able to make it much smaller (still needs controls and headphone jack).
That leaves them with the only option being to make it cheaper.
Feature-wise, I guess wireless syncing, as it gets smaller the dock is going to be smaller and smaller (the current version looks flimsy, like it wouldn't stand up or something.) But there's not much you can do with something with no screen.
They have to do one (or more) of the following:
funny quotes about friends.

I wasn't sure what to expect, and wasn't really wishing for anything in particular, so, I thought the Keynote was so-so. Great features on the iPhone, but, why announce it 6 months in advance after so much hype? And why Cingular, possibly the worst phone company on Earth? And why is Yahoo necessary for email? Boy, I bet the contract for this phone will require that you hire a Lawyer with all these corporations providing 3rd party services. YUCKO!
iTV was interesting, but, I just don't get it. A crippled, iTunes-only DVR for $300 that has only 40 GB storage?? Did I miss something? Does it do anything else but stream media? Didn't the Airport Express do that for half the price? Did you see the System Requirements just to use this thing?

Of course. Say you are a subscriber and then decide to cancel for some reason - maybe it's too expensive.
When a cheaper version becomes available, FT would like to be able to contact you to let you know about the new deal.
Or maybe they would like to offer you a welcome back deal.
Or maybe...
The point is, there are a lot of reasons a company would want this information that does not involve selling your information to someone else.
I don't want THEM having the information. If I sever my relationship with a business (for example, by canceling a subscription) I don't WANT them to pester me to re-sign. I don't want phone calls, mailings, and email. If their computer burps and decides I haven't paid them properly, I don't WANT them pestering me or having debt collectors pester me.

And you're only argument is "it's wrong".
Really? Have you read the thread? This is far from the only argument given to get rid of the death penalty.

Address Book syncing now works!!! I'm happy. 7.0.2 definitely is a lot nicer looking. Will have to play around with it some more today.
And Sametime!! They added Sametime!
I never thought I would say this, but thanks IBM...you finally made the Mac version of Notes livable. I'm as excited as I could be about something Notes related :)

I'm guessing this is sarcasm.
It is a toy. You can't seriously think that professionals are going to depend on Photoshop for iPad and throw away their computer can you? That's like throwing away your computer because GarageBand is also available on the iPad, and attempting to produce an album on an iPad. Impossible.
No matter what Steve says, it is a toy! I think it is brilliant you can do these things on such a simple product for the average user, but they are nothing more than for... the average user.Exactly.
